Dura-Sport were appointed by Worsley Cricket Club to construct a new twin-lane cricket practice facility at their ground in Manchester.
Before construction works commenced, Dura-Sport broke out and removed an existing practice facility and a new modern DDA compliant fully enclosed and lockable twin lane non-turf practice facility, with ECB Approved cricket pitches, enhanced HD netting, anti-vermin skirt and batting curtains was constructed.
An ECB Approved DSi-pro cricket pitch runs straight through each lane from back to front, avoiding changes in performance or feel underfoot, carpet joins or trip hazards. The system is surfaced with DSi-weave, recently confirmed in an ECB laboratory as the strongest and most durable available, complete with spike resistant technology.
The club opted for our traditional dark green DSi-weave cricket carpets, complimented by DS Grass installed in between and either side of the pitches, offering the look and feel of natural grass. The DS grass continues to 300mm outside the perimeter of the cage structure to form a mowing margin and blend the facility into the cricket field.
The project was completed on time and within budget, and the new facility has now been put to bed along with the rest of the ground for the winter, ready for the 2020 cricket season.
