Dura-Sport were approached to provide help and advice regarding the refurbishment of the indoor cricket centre at Shrewsbury School in Shropshire.
Previous contractors had offered the School several different surfacing suggestions for the project but the school requested for the centre to be surfaced with the same product currently in situ due to the consistency and durability they had previously experienced.
The School also wished to use the 4 lane facility for small sided games. However, with the carpets joining directly down the middle of the indoor centre there was a concern that performance and ball bounce may be affected by this in a game situation.
After receiving the above brief, Dura-Sport firstly set about sourcing the exact product requested. As an independent company with experience of the product we were able to source and purchase the surface directly from the manufacturer. Once sourced, discussions regarding manufacturing timescales and logistics took place and this was fed back to the School.
Meanwhile, a unique design was drawn up to alleviate the issue of a seam down the middle of the indoor centre. 5 rolls of carpet were manufactured for use over the 4 bays, with two shades of yarn used on each carpet. By offsetting the colours on each carpet we were able to form pitches in the correct areas whilst offsetting the seams.
The project was completed within a tight timescale and within budget.
We are very proud to have been able to offer a suitable solution to such a prestigious client.
