In January 2014 Dura-Sport refurbished and upgraded lane one of The Mike Turner Indoor Cricket Centre at Grace Road using their DSi-turf indoor cricket product. After a season of successful training and positive feedback the club decided that the other two lanes were in need of a similar refurbishment.
Lanes two and three were previously refurbished in 2009. Upon inspection the tufted grass material was damaged and worn through and it became apparent to the club that the DSi-turf product was going to offer an increased lifespan and performance characteristics following its successful trial in lane one.
The refurbishment included lifting and removing the existing damaged material in its entirety and professionally cleaning the floor to remove any debris or glue. The new full length surfaces were then rolled out and secured in a suitable manner and marked out as per rules of the game.
Leicestershire County Cricket Club can now offer its players and local clubs who hire the centre a fully refurbished, upgraded and resurfaced three lane facility in time for 2014 winter net practice.
