Anstey, Leicestershire
The double court area of approximately 1020m² at Jubilee Recreation Ground in Anstey, Leicestershire was struggling with poor drainage and holding water. Silt and contamination was present on the playing area and within the sand infill, making it hazardous for its users.
The entrance to the pitch had become muddy with foot traffic carrying the contamination onto the playing surface causing drainage issues and a slippery surface. Firstly we installed a bespoke entrance area that enabled users to wipe the soles of their footwear to stop the contamination entering the facility.
We then used our specialised machinery to deep clean the contamination from within the carpet pile and filter the sand back onto the surface. This process also de-compacts and 'opens up' the carpet to make it softer underfoot and restores the playing and draining characteristics helping to bring the courts back to an ‘as new’ condition.
