Dura-Sport were approached to provide advice and a quotation for the replacement of the clubs existing twin bay facility.
Following discussions on site a design and specification was produced to suit the clubs requirements. Firstly, the club chose to dismantle the existing light duty 14m long cage structure. The remainder of the project was then carried out by Dura-Sport in its entirety in order to meet ECB technical compliance.
Scope of works included ripping up the existing surfacing, including the dated bat and bowl configuration and all internal timber frame work and existing aggregate foundation.
The design footprint was then extended in both length and width to 27.00m x 8.00m and set out using a laser level to meet ECB requirements.
A deeper, stable foundation was excavated out, including sockets to house the new heavy duty fully galvanised 18.30m long cage structure.
2no. ECB Approved DSi-pro practice pitches measuring 27.00m x 2.74m were specified and constructed from the back to the front of the facility, removing the requirement for any internal timber boards. DS Evograss 3G synthetic grass surrounds was then laid in between and alongside the pitches
The cage was fitted with heavy duty black netting on a tensioned line wire system and an anti vermin skirt was installed to the perimeter of the bottom of the net.
Following facility completion 20 tonnes of topsoil were then imported to the area in order to remodel and level the immediate surrounding ground and ensure a smooth transition from the outfield to the run ups, all graded in to meet ECB tolerances.
The pitches were then marked out as per rules of the game and the site was left clean and tidy. The project was completed inside the requested timescales and within the clubs budget.
