Elton Cricket Club

Dura-Sport were approached by Elton Cricket Club to provide help and advice with regards to designing a non-turf practice facility at their picturesque Leigh Lane Ground near Bury. 

With considerations and discussions regarding location, dimensions, configuration, performance, lifespan and budget, a specification was agreed to meet the required criteria. 

The result is a triple lane facility incorporating ECB Approved DSi-pro Vision practice pitches, surfaced with our DSi-weave superior wilton woven carpet. The carpet is manufactured using a unique loam coloured yarn to replicate the look, feel and performance of a well prepared natural turf wicket. 

A heavy duty cage and netting system was erected to the same length of the practice pitches to help to prevent cross shots and cricket balls escaping between lanes. 

The ECB Approved DSi-pro Vision system is complimented by DS Evograss tri coloured natural looking synthetic grass surrounds, installed to define the pitches and provide both an extended run up and mowing margin around the perimeter of the heavy duty fencing system, which includes a DDA compliant lockable access gate. 

By purchasing materials directly from UK manufacturers and constructing the facility in house, we were able to specify these enhanced products at Elton Cricket Club whilst remaining within the clubs budget for the project. This means that the club has a triple lane replica of the nets we constructed at Emirates Old Trafford for Lancashire CCC.  

The project has been completed within both the agreed timeframe and within budget.
