Dura-Sport were approached to provide advice to Caterham School regarding construction of a practice facility to replace their existing concrete nets. Several discussions took place regarding the facility before a decision was made to construct a fully enclosed five lane practice facility. The School were also advised on a suitable design in order to meet health & safety, performance and maintenance requirements.
The facility design features five 35.00 metre long practice pitches incorporating The ECB Approved DSi-pro cricket system, surfaced with DSi-weave superior wilton woven playing surfaces, with Evograss synthetic surround material installed to provide a totally synthetic low maintenance design footprint.
The cage structure was designed in a manner to fully enclose the facility, with unauthorised use prevented by the inclusion of a DDA compliant lockable access gate, complete with ramp for wheelchair access.
Netting was also upgraded to offer an extended lifespan, and batting curtains and stumps were also specified within the scheme.
