Dura-Sport were invited to provide advice to Northern Cricket Club with regards to the design of a new practice facility at their ground. After a site investigation and discussions with the club a specification and design was agreed with them to suit their requirements.
A four bay facility 35.00m in length was set out and constructed accordingly. 4no. pitches were built, each incorporating The ECB Approved DSi-pro Vision cricket system, replicating the performance and visual appearance of a well prepared natural grass wicket within each lane. The remaining areas of the facility were surfaced with DS Evograss, a tri coloured leisure grass to replicate the look and feel of natural grass, both within the extended run ups and surrounding each pitch.
A 21.96m long cage structure was also erected and fitted with our DS HD dark green knotted netting.
The facility was then enclosed with a 3.00m high heavy duty 868 panel mesh perimeter fence, including a lockable DDA compliant access point.
The project was completed on time and within budget and is the first facility in Merseyside to incorporate our new 2nd generation DSi-weave beige coloured playing surface.
