Dura-Sport were approached to provide advice to Spalding Grammar School regarding the construction of a non-turf cricket practice facility. Several discussions took place and guide costs were provided before a decision was made to construct a fully enclosed triple lane practice facility as opposed to the original twin bay design.
The facility design incorporates three 30 metre long practice pitches incorporating the ECB Approved DSi-pro cricket system, surfaced with i-weave superior wilton woven playing surfaces, with full evograss natural looking synthetic grass surround material to provide a totally synthetic design footprint. The cage structure was designed in a manner to fully enclose the facility, with unauthorised use prevented by the inclusion of a DDA compliant lockable access gate. The surrounding ground was also remodelled and re-graded as part of the scheme, which was completed on time and within budget with no additional costs.
The facility was officially opened on 17th March by Sussex and former England batsman Matt Prior.
“I was most impressed with the level of service from the initial enquiry, through the construction and to the completion of the netting facility. The advice and support through our application with the ECB enabled us to plan, amend as required and install within two months ready for the new season. Dura-Sport have been outstanding and I am so pleased we chose them as our supplier, and would recommend them to both clubs and schools without hesitation in the future”
