Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Specialist Sports College Hinchinbrooke School appointed Dura-Sport to resurface their existing synthetic grass pitch with a 3rd Generation synthetic grass (3G), incorporating new sports fencing and a new floodlighting system.
The new facility was officially opened by West Ham and England legend Sir Trevor Brooking and the ceremony featured a number of football coaching sessions for Hinchingbrooke School students. Open all year round, the pitch will be available to all schools, clubs and community groups in Huntingdon and the surrounding areas.
Mr Keith Nancekievill, Head Teacher of Hinchingbrooke School, said: “I am delighted that we now have such a fantastic sports facility. This state-of-the-art pitch will be a great asset to both students at Hinchingbrooke School and the local community.”
Paul Thorogood, Chief Executive of the Football Foundation, said: “This new all-weather pitch will really benefit local people of all ages. Congratulations should go to Hinchingbrooke School and the Huntingdonshire FA.
“As main contractors Dura-Sport were at the forefront of the construction of our artificial grass pitch facility and their help and support both during and after the construction period has been invaluable. This has enabled us to produce a facility that is extensively used by both the school’s pupils and the local community, making us the envy of our peers”
