Dura-Sport were approached to provide advice to Herstmonceux Cricket Club regarding the construction of a new twin bay practice facility to replace their existing, which was no longer fit for purpose.
Work included the removal of the existing practice facility and cage structure from the area, before setting the facility within ECB tolerances.
A 200mm excavation provided a stable foundation which aided drainage.
The facility design itself features 2no. 26.00m long practice pitches incorporating The ECB Approved DSi-pro cricket pitch system, surfaced with DSi-weave. DS Evograss 3G grass was then installed alongside and in between each pitch, finishing 300mm outside the cage structure to form a mowing margin between the natural grass and the facility. An extended heavy duty cage structure was erected and fitted with our DS HD 3mm thick black knotted netting to the backs, wings, intermediates and full roof.
The facility meets all ECB technical compliance, was completed on time and within budget and is bedding in well in preparation for the 2018 cricket season.
“We have been hugely impressed with the workmanship and diligence of the Dura-Sport team, and are thrilled with our new practice facility. We now wait for the sunshine and the new season to inspire the next generation of junior players and are delighted to be able to provide first rate training opportunities for Club members and the whole community.”
