Dulwich, South London
Dura-Sport were approached by Dulwich Cricket Club for advice regarding a new practice facility to replace their existing.
Following site meetings, measurements and data taken from site, a configuration was agreed and a triple lane facility was designed, both to meet ECB technical compliance and to make full use of the space available whilst ensuring that the facility did not encroach on to the outfield.
Included within the specification was the removal of the existing facility, additional substructure and drainage works.
The facility features three ECB Approved DSi-pro Vision cricket pitches, surfaced with straw coloured DSi-weave cricket carpet to replicate the visual appearance of a natural turf wicket.
DS Evograss natural looking 3G grass was installed alongside and in between each pitch and also within the extended bowlers’ run up area.
A full length heavy duty cage structure was installed to enclose each lane, complete with DS HD dark green netting, double clad in areas of high traffic. Batting curtains were also installed as part of the scheme.
The facility was enclosed by a heavy duty twin wire lockable panel mesh fencing system, installed to the perimeter of the design. Included within the fence was a DDA compliant pedestrian access gate as well as a double gate which can be opened to allow for an extended bowlers’ run up on the third lane.
The project was completed within a tight timescale and within budget and meets all ECB TS6 and ECB Code of Practice requirements.
